Aaaaaand we’re back! Join us in February 4-9 at the 2013 SAICFF!

Same deal, same rate!

We’ve already had emails asking about this deal, and now we’re getting the info out.  Stay with HeuMoore productions at the Drury Plaza Hotel, February 7-9 for the 2013 San Antonio Independent Christian Film Festival, and February 4-6 for the Film Academy!

The Drury was converted from an old bank building. It's classic design is gorgeous, and adds a tremendous ambiance to the San Antonio Riverwalk.

It’s getting to be that time of year again.  Time to make travel and lodging arrangements for your favorite, one and only San Antonio Independent Christian Film Festival.  Last year (and the year before, and before that) many families joined the Moore, Moreland, and Heustis families at the Drury Plaza Hotel (not Inn and Suites) on the Riverwalk in San Antonio, Texas.  It’s a great location, with some fantastic amenities, and this year we have once again secured a block pricing agreement with the Drury for families who want to take advantage of the location and the price bundle.  The meals are great, the beds are bouncy, and the interior of the hotel is gorgeous.  We highly recommend it over several of the other options, and would encourage to come, one and all, to stay with HeuMoore Productions at the 2013 SAICFF.

Never fear if they give you the ‘block full’ message!  Just email us or leave a comment here, and we’ll let them know to add more rooms.  The price, location (easy walking distance to the film festival), and convenience of meals (good meals, too, as we said) make the value unmatched.  Check it out, and if you’ll be staying at the Drury, let us know here or on our Ace Wonder facebook page!  Click here to check room pricing…

The Lobby is decorated with some of the original vintage artwork of the bank's original design and decoration.

Mystery, Legacy and Moore Brotherly Love Beat at the Heart
of the New “Ace Wonder” Movie from the Award-Winning HeuMoore Productions

KAUFMAN, TX, July 17, 2011—There was no smoking gun, no dark alley, only unanswered questions that might have scared off the average kid. But 10-year- old sleuth Ace Wonder, P.I. lives for brilliant mysteries. In Ace Wonder: Message from a Dead Man (watch the trailer), Ace risks his young life and still growing limbs to solve a baffling murder as a father and son confront haunting family memories that hold the key to their tattered relationship.

The prodigious Writer/Director John Moore, 21, (SAIFF Award-Winner “The Widow’s Might”) of HeuMoore Productions and his younger brother actor Gator Moore, 12, will host the ICRS premier of Ace Wonder during the 2011 International Christian Retail Show, Tuesday, July 12 at 9 AM in the Sidney Marcus Auditorium, World Congress Center, Atlanta, GA. ICRS participants are encouraged to visit Ace Wonder’s Booth (located at Debut Avenue #DA-31) to meet the filmmakers and pickup a golden admission ticket to the screening and to enter a drawing to win a free IPAD.

While struggling to find a storyline for his latest novel on a typical rainy day, the boy detective stumbles across his first real case. “A man told me that heaven was crying that day,” Gator whose campy portrayal of “Ace Wonder” delivers mystery, adventure and humor for the entire family. “Maybe so. But heaven’s tears were cold…and a thousand lingering memories remain to haunt us.”

Ace’s path tangles with Derek Morton and a host of creepy suspects as this seemingly simple family mystery becomes a case of corporate espionage, scientific discovery, and one cold-blooded killer.
Beneath the mystery and entertainment lies a deeper message for families. Director John Moore said of the movie’s important themes, “They know that God desires to turn the hearts of fathers to their sons, but the son begins drifting further and further away from his dad.

“The answer is one for this generation and is worthy of decoding. In the midst of busyness, so many families forget to share the stories that hold the keys to our rich legacies,” he concluded.

HeuMoore Productions, the filmmaking collaboration of John Moore and David Heustis, first received notice after its film, “The Widow’s Might,” took Best of Festival Jubilee and Audience Choice Award in the 2009 San Antonio Independent Christian Film Festival (SAIFF). Moore produced “The Widow’s Might” at age 18 and “Ace Wonder” at 20.

HeuMoore is dedicated to creating films that glorify Christ and spread a message of truth. Their films are intended to be wholesome Christian fare for the entire family. For information and to watch the new trailer of Ace Wonder: Message from a Dead Man, please visit

SAICFF Lodging, Room Block Pricing with HeuMoore Productions

Hi everyone.  Last year, we made a block available for others to use at the Drury, for HeuMoore productions.  We didn’t expect the kind of popularity it received, but it was used by dozens and dozens of families we hadn’t even met.  So this year we did the same thing.

A few things quickly about the Drury, it’s by far one of the most gorgeous hotels in the area.  I’ve stayed in a few, including the Marriot and the Menger, but the Drury is by far my favorite.  The other thing is that this year, the festival is not exclusively in the Henry B. Gonzales.  It’s also taking place at the Municipal auditorium, which is about a half a mile from the Henry B.  Well, the Drury is within walking distance of both locations, which is especially helpful in light of the parking expenses downtown.

The Drury has fantastic meals in the morning and evening, and though I usually hate hotel breakfasts, I never missed one at the Drury.  Now they have a ‘kickback’ sort of happy hour with a lot of great food in the evening as well, scheduled conveniently to work pretty well with the Academy and festival hours.

If four guys stayed in a room together, that’s eight GOOD meals a day, included in your hotel price.  That makes the Drury, suddenly as or more affordable than most of these super cheap motels in the area.  So be sure to consider the collective benefit of a stay at the Drury.  It’s by far the best deal in the area.  My family and good portions of the Ace Wonder crew will be staying in the Drury Plaza hotel, and we invite you all to join us!  We negotiated this rate very early in the year, and it’s an exceptionally good deal.

And now the official email.
